Can Mindset Be Built?
We left off with a question at the end of the previous post:
How is the mindset required to stay strong in this new world built?
Because it is no longer about information.
It is about reflex.
Let's start by accepting this:
Nobody wakes up in the morning and transforms by saying, "From today on, I will be a visionary."
Mindset reveals itself in the way you react to a crisis.
When a problem arises:
Do you look for someone to blame?
Do you make excuses?
Or do you own the problem and break it down into pieces?
The difference lies exactly here.
=> Leverage Skills in the Age of AI
Today, many people focus on technical knowledge.
They learn to code, learn tools, learn platforms.
These are valuable.
But they are not levers on their own.
The real leverage lies here:
Defining the problem correctly
Questioning assumptions
Making decisions under uncertainty
Thinking across disciplines
We see this very clearly in Algorithmic Trading.
Writing a strategy is not difficult.
The hard part is asking these questions:
Why should this strategy work?
In which market condition does it break down?
Where does risk accumulate?
Am I overfitting?
Writing code is a technical job.
But building a system is a mental one.
=> How is a Strong Profile Formed?
The strong person in the new world does not anchor themselves by saying, "I am this."
Instead, they say:
"I can solve this problem."
They talk about problem-solving capability, not roles.
Therefore, we must develop:
Analytical thinking
System-building reflex
Risk-reading skill
Clarity in communication
Because being smart alone is not enough.
You need to be able to convey your thoughts.
=> Where to Start?
No need for big plans.
The start is much simpler:
Consciously analyze one problem every day
Write down an idea
Automate a process
Make sense of a dataset
People who build small systems can manage large systems.
=> Remember this:
AI won't make you unemployed.
Your mental laziness will.
My goal in this blog series is not to generate fear.
It is to generate clarity.
In the next post, we will talk more concretely:
How should you position yourself?
In which areas should you go deep, and in which should you go wide?
Should you be a specialist, or remain hybrid?
To be continued.
